Hey Folks: The artist I found really interesting is Chen Wenhong. The painting titled "Under the Blue Moon Light" is an oil on canvas 59x78 inches and sells for only $5,000-$10,000 U.S. dollars!

After visiting saatchi and artnet, I found artnet is definitely easier for me to navigate. I checked out some galleries in Beijing, China and found Chuan Cheng Art Center. It reminds me of Anime which I really enjoy, my daughter got me hooked a few years ago. Here is the link to the artist, and I finally figured out how to post a picture!

Kunbu Lei

Mr. Lei creates works of oil on canvas which depict unflinchingly cheerful figures in both nondescript interiors and lush, ethereal landscapes and cloudscapes. An overview of his work can be found here, and a brief look at an Australian show he was in earlier this year can be found here.

URBAN ROCKSTAR- a show featuring your fellow B.F.A colleague Victor Salazar!

Hey all,

I (Victor Salazar) am having a show that's going to be part of the Oakland Art Murmur this friday at Mama Buzz cafe in Oakland.  I'm only including pieces from my previous show VERSES + 1 ! It would be n
ice to see familiar faces that night so please try to come and represent the amazing, groundbreaking, and controversially inappropriate group that composes the BFA program.  I hope to see you all there.  There are more details in this poster I'm including.

I think the reception lasts from 7-10pm now so there's some extra time if you want to be fashionably late.  I also have a blog with even more information for those who are interested- vix4here.blogspot.com k see you guys in class.

This is work from an artist I found at deviantart.com that I thought was fun.

Elizabeth King: The Sizes of Things in the Mind's Eye

I found this site while googling sculptors. Elizabeth King's work is really different so go visit the Sheldon Museum of Art's website (they are in Nebraska!). Her slideshow is amazing. Can anyone tell me how to include a photo from the artist's website?? Thanks!
